these ads were super common in the voice through to the late '80s....most were gentlemen looking for "companions" who wanted free rent. — DEB on Seen & Heard: 56 Leonard Is Getting Glassed
Now if only we could get a excellent ice cream shop, not BaskinsRobbins and not ridiculously priced Gröm, so we can start to have a neighbourhood again. Imagine, ice cream place on one side and a connect over 21 lounge right next to it. Anyone? Anyone? — Mikal on Sushi Dojo Is Indeed Opening on Chambers
Yet again, Tribeca Citizen is the 'go to' for what's new in the neighborhood. Thank you for telling us about Arcade Bakery! One would never know it was there, but for your specific directions. I hope they get a sign soon, I want them to stay in business. — Andrea on Cheap Eats: The Downtown Edition

Great going, guys! Joe and I can't wait to visit the new ship. What a terrific idea you had. Hugs, Rosemary James — Rosemary James on First Impressions: Grand Banks
Hopefully NOT the Tribeca Deli :( That would be sad.... for the neighborhood. — Milo on Ashiya Sushi Has Closed
I agree! Three cheers for bikram yoga soho!! Amazing studio; better than any other in the city. — Christopher on Bikram Yoga NYC Has Found a Space in Tribeca
I agree - I can't imagine having any objections to Dahlia's sidewalk cafe - it's like a beautiful overgrown rainforest that gets neatly and delicately tarped nightly. — Jim Smithers on CB1 Tribeca Committee: The Unofficial Minutes (July 2014)
Me, too! I also love that one's sun sign was an important factor in finding a roommate. @Tommy Flynn: thank you for saving and sharing that little piece of nostalgia. — KP on Seen & Heard: 56 Leonard Is Getting Glassed
Sophie's Cuisine on Chambers, great for lunch and you can take the rest and eat it for dinner (very generous portions) I also really like the Hummus and Pita Co - better than Nish Nush, actually. — Liat on Cheap Eats: The Downtown Edition
So happy and proud to see " the lady " doing so well. I am familiar with the Zwicker ,it was here in the Maritimes for Tall Ship Festivals . Amazing history and stories attached to her. I will be in New York in the Fall, and hope to visit. June Mclennan , New Brunswick, Canada — June McLennan on First Impressions: Grand Banks
Such good news! I really do hope this continues to elevate the block. However, your earlier posts about the new smoke shop next to "Korner Jewelry" and the nail salon where Jerry used to be are disappointing. Once the Reade Chambers building (or whatever they are calling it) opens, I would assume that will help. — AliceG on Sushi Dojo Is Indeed Opening on Chambers

I'm more interested in "free rent for woman in exchange to buying/cooking dinner for busy exec." This raises so many questions I don't know where to start! — K on Seen & Heard: 56 Leonard Is Getting Glassed

The red snapper ceviche was great. Loved sitting up on the bow the other evening - I like how they give you free reign on the boat. — JK on First Impressions: Grand Banks
We love that we were included on this. And yes we are a bit more expensive but as noted, it's paramount to us to source our ingredients well. As the old saying goes, you get what you pay for. And it gives us yet another reason to hang out at the farmer's markets! — Genevieve on Cheap Eats: The Downtown Edition
I think I was overly defensive—sorry about that. Sometimes comments get to me.... — Erik Torkells on Cheap Eats: The Downtown Edition
Peace. — Doc on Cheap Eats: The Downtown Edition
The southeast corner of Chambers and Greenwich is depressing me. I first knew it as a well-loved Italian sandwich shop that had to close because of rent problems. Then it became local chain The Little Pie Shop, which was nice enough, but less popular. It closed. Then the place remained vacant for a long time, and now a bank is opening there. That is a depressing progression, isn't it? — TG on Seen & Heard: Yet Another Nail Salon?
Sounds like the restaurant is being scammed — PerryR on In the News: Dead Rat Found in Chop’t Wrap
