  • Most definitely not Anna. Check out these Madison modern takes on a classic supperclub: http://www.vintagemadison.com http://www.theoldfashioned.com/ Should also point out the butterfly has no bloody mary. Look to my second link for inspiration. — scott on New Kid on the Block: The Butterfly

  • @SoWhat you may think that Tribeca is unimpressive but remember this is a website about that neighborhood. I think the photos are a nice display of small details that are often overlooked. Thanks for sharing Erik! — Claudine on Close-Up: Thomas Street

  • I also remember belle bates being on W. Bway! An ex introduced me to them, It was very small and everything was stacked upward, that they had to use ladders.......those were the days. Give it a few months and all will feel the loss. My company relocated further downtown.....I was missing my daily walks there for the past 5 yrs! Thank you Belle Bates and workers!!!!!!!!! They were the best!!!!!!!! Linda — Linda on Bell Bates Is Closing

  • Are their prices Wisconsony????That is the question. — Anna on New Kid on the Block: The Butterfly

  • Good news for HRP! Rejoice, the wicked witch-obstacle has been removed! I am confident that the HRPT will no longer "need" the Neighborhood-Improvement-TAX or at least, cut their estimated budget shortfall to coincide with this new revenue stream. OR they will finally live up to their self-sustaining promise to the City. Oh wait, pigs just started flying out of my ass. Same old, same old. Broken promises for all. See you at the Gala! Fake tans, botox, and low-cut seer-sucker cocktail gowns for all (ladies AND gentlemen). — Jim Smithers on Seen & Heard: Hudson River Park Legislation Is Passed

  • When I see someone on a bike obey traffic laws I am shocked. I have had bikes whizz past me while crossing a crowded intersection, almost knock me over on a sidewalk and get pissed at me when I try to cross the street. They aren't messengers or delivery guys. They are regular people out for a nice bike ride. I have even seen adults on bikes riding on sidewalks with little kids — Tanya Schiavone on Seen & Heard: Hudson River Park Legislation Is Passed

  • If you think this is historic and quaint, then you should go to any other crappy borough in the city. This is just an example of how unimpressive is Tribeca — SoWhat on Close-Up: Thomas Street

  • ok....so why is it that cops never ticket those bleeping delivery guys with the battery powered bikes. Not only are they rude, break every law conceivable, present a real danger to everyone (pedestrians. drivers and other bikers), but they are also smug and arrogant. I hate them and wish I could kick them and their bully bikes over when they come whipping by. — Valsusanna on Seen & Heard: Hudson River Park Legislation Is Passed

  • I don't enjoy concussions, so I walk in the city, but I'm all for bikes: clean, healthy, compact. In their zeal for the same respect as cars, I assume bike riders welcome the same repercussions for traffic violations that cars currently receive. Until then, whenever I see a bike messenger collide with a food delivery guy (true story!), I make a wish. — jfrankp on Seen & Heard: Hudson River Park Legislation Is Passed

  • thanks for looking into this.. these things have been a blight on the neighborhood for way to long. wanna bet that they don't follow thru and these things are still standing in 2014? — josh on Nosy Neighbor: When Will the West Street Trailers Be Removed?

  • Too bad they don't see fit to ticket the local riders who ride against traffic, weave in & out, ride through red lights, and generally make being a pedestrian difficult. I'm all for bikes, but I do wish the riders would obey traffic rules. — Carol Tanenbaum on Seen & Heard: Hudson River Park Legislation Is Passed

  • I took my kids on Friday evening and we had a great meal. They loved the popcorn and watermelon and I really enjoyed the cauliflower. Some of the blinds had broken and light was indeed an issue. I had to wear my sunglasses but it won't keep me from going back. Next time we're trying the ribs and the apple pie float. — JD on First Impressions: Distilled

  • Ate there late Saturday night - place was humming - sweet-salty-sticky-asian-y wings were marvellous, as were the ribs. Agree with you about the staff - they were charmers but not sycophants (nice change). I would urge them to have the rusted steps fixed - not a good look as one arrives and also a suit waiting to happen . — Cate on First Impressions: Distilled

  • That spire...if Ed Wood was still alive ,I would swear he designed it. — Judith on Seen & Heard: Blueberry Fusion Café

  • Thank you, Tribeca Citizen! we hope to see you this saturday at our next Radio LILAC! and thank you for letting us know that the Gay Pride's Rapture on the River will be happening across the slip on pier 26! yes: we learned about it from YOU! many thanks, again! your neighbor and reader, Christina — bowsprite on Seen & Heard: The Greek Opens Tonight

  • I "ran" into James walking down Greenwich last winter. A man was loading his black Mercedes SUV (1/2 on the sidewalk) outside his building. I was saying to myself "dude, you can't park like this". As I walked by him, I was face to face with "Tony". He looked at me, I at him. He gave me that Soprano "look"....I happily kept walking. I did not know him but am very sad for his wife and most of all for his kids. May God bless his family. — Francesco on Remembering James Gandolfini

  • Went last week with a couple friend who also lives in the neighborhood and we will not be back. food was terrible, our meals all came out at different times. the hanger steak came out a full ten minutes after the last person got their dish. — sarah on First Impressions: Distilled

  • Also, the Fulton Stall Market is at the South Street Seaport. Open every Sunday from 11 am to 5 pm throughout the summer. • The are some pictures of the finished design in the slide show here. It looks like the spire will be what it is now. http://archrecord.construction.com/news/2012/08/120815-One-World-Trade-Center-Spire-Redesign.asp — Hudson River on Seen & Heard: Blueberry Fusion Café

  • WTC is referring to the cylindrical structure as "communication rings". They have been built up in layers and only now appear more like one structure due to the construction scrim that has recently been installed. I too am curious about the finished appearance of both this and the spire. — Andrea on Seen & Heard: Blueberry Fusion Café

  • I'm so saddened by the news of Bell Bates' closing. This was one of the last few places in the area where I could get out from my stuffy office and walk for a really healthy meal, without the hormones, and other added crap. Matthew and Billy were two of the sweetest guys that you ever wanted to meet and talk with. I would always chat and laugh with them. Bell Bates was really the best bet for lunch, supplements and healthy snacks. I blame the corporate monsters for this. Grrrrr! @ Whole Foods! — Numi on Bell Bates Is Closing

  • I don't really understand the spire. It looks skeletal at this point. Will they be cladding it, or building out the structure to some extent? I have not seen a finished rendering. — Doug on Seen & Heard: Blueberry Fusion Café

  • It's not the observatory. I think the cylindrical layer cake will hold a lot of microwave and cell phone equipment. — Troy Torrison on Seen & Heard: Blueberry Fusion Café
