SB is onto something: there is a place with a liquor license and that is a great clue! (I now know the answer.) I am checking now on the location of those particular posts, however, in case the visual clues don't match up... — Tribeca Citizen on Where in Tribeca: American Idol Edition
Love it. Thanks, James! — Tribeca Citizen on Where in Tribeca?
Again, please do not refer to Chuck as “homeless man”. There is better ways to word your writing. Chuck fell on his luck, he didn’t have stable housing in New York City as it is one of the most unaffordable places to live which is a likely reason that lead him to live on the streets. Many people are mourning his loss. Chuck Daly is a man is missed and loved by many. Please in the future use better words because the loss of anyone is hard and to those who loved and known Chuck he wasn’t “homeless man”. — C on Fund for Chuck Daly is now over $30,000
Here is a *wild* and mostly unfounded speculation. If it is original, and not some recently installed affectation, then perhaps an early occupant installed it. Per the Tribeca South Historic District Designation Report: "It was constructed c. 1810 [...] It seems likely that it originally had a shop at the ground story, since the 1812 directory lists only this address for the occupant, merchant Peter Carion, suggesting that his business was located on the premises." Based on the name, Carion was potentially French or maybe Huguenot. — james on Where in Tribeca?
Oh! That's lovely news for her and her family. The coffee shop in most of her videos, however, is apparently Briccy’s Coffee in Castle Rock, Colorado, while the other coffee shop, the one with the light tan shelves, appears to sell Counter Culture Coffee as well as wine and champagne by the glass, so it's indeed difficult to imagine who'd have that mixed license in the TriBeCa area. Curious, indeed. — SB on Where in Tribeca: American Idol Edition

there are many high quality studies including one from brown university that's in the peer review process now that show a significant decline in pre-school students' social and cognitive development since the masking began. the pros and cons of mask wearing have been debated since this began but the overwhelming consensus at this point is that with children the harm greatly outweighs the benefit. — josh on Preschool directors hoping the youngest can lose masks

I recently attended a zoom presentation by Chris Marte and Allie Gumas from the Dept. of Sanitation. The city has a program for Sanitation to pick up compost from buildings. They provide the bins, building residents put their compost in them, and the super or other responsible person wheels the bins to the street for once a week pick up. It is only happening in a few parts of the city. How much it will be extended to other areas is dependent on the City's Budget allocation to Dept.of Sanitation. — JS Miller on Rats! Part Deux
The hole at 65 West Broadway is so frustrating. It's a great corner, and the neighborhood lost some excellent spots in Mariachi's, Saleya, Racoon Lodge. To just have that spot sit empty for 5 years is terrible. — James S on Unfinished business
