Insert eye-roll — vale on Seen & Heard: Progress at Bogardus Plaza
I got an estimate for a bluestone patio at my house in the tony Hamptons and the self-described honest contractor quoted me an inflated price and said it would take 2.5+ years. Seems reasonable. So no need for CB1 or any other elected official/body to question it or make changes. No need at all. My contractors start next week. So exciting! #USA — Jim Smithers on Seen & Heard: Progress at Bogardus Plaza
Neighbors really tried to block his outdoor permit? Thats terrible; what on earth for? They prefer speeding cars? — PATRICK Valentino on Tribeca’s Kitchen will reopen this week
its not loud and hardly can compet with traffic. if you wanna make Tribeca even nicer, get rid of cars on certain streets....music at that decibel is likely to drown out the traffic noise — PATRICK Valentino on Tribeca’s Kitchen will reopen this week
I've said this before, but it puts this plaza in perspective... they built the Empire State Building in 13 months. — FRANK on Seen & Heard: Progress at Bogardus Plaza
The last thing we need is more music playing outside. 1803 restaurant had a live band the other day for several hours - don't they need a permit for that? It may be festive for them, but for nearby residents it's a real nuisance, especially when you can hear music from multiple restaurants at a time. — DeeDee on Tribeca’s Kitchen will reopen this week
Now they can make use of all of the outdoor furniture Andy invested in before his neighbors blocked his sidewalk permits. Wishing you all the best of luck on the reopening and look forward to visiting again. — TribecaMom on Tribeca’s Kitchen will reopen this week

As long as it’s not a haven for homeless. Or a gathering spot for “protests” or worse, an occupied encampment — Try bex on Seen & Heard: Progress at Bogardus Plaza
Terrible project. Losing the turn onto Hudson has cars driving more to navigate, and, generating that much more exhaust fumes, to add a, minimally use-able, plaza, with a few tables and chairs. Costing a fortune and taking forever in the true spirit of urban bureaucracy. — Salty1 on Seen & Heard: Progress at Bogardus Plaza
To take your question literally, it takes more than 2.5 years. Construction started in November of 2017. — Tribeca Citizen on Seen & Heard: Progress at Bogardus Plaza
It feels like that plaza is taking forever to finish. It has been years! They must be almost done. How long does a small plaza like that take?! — K on Seen & Heard: Progress at Bogardus Plaza
I walked over there yesterday and there is music playing along with planters set up. So glad to see this. — PATRICK Valentino on Tribeca’s Kitchen will reopen this week
This plaza will really make that part of Tribeca nice. I am sure everyone can't wait till its done. — PATRICK Valentino on Seen & Heard: Progress at Bogardus Plaza
The no mask comments are pretty cavalier. Many people without masks walk around and then go into the farmer’s market and stand next to others without masks. They also flout the please wear a mask signs at the stalls. You are helping everyone by a pretty simple action - wear the mask when out in public — Needmasks on Just how masked is Tribeca?

So sad these small businesses are closing up shops. We have fond memories of BGL. My son had his birthday party there last year and went their holiday camp as well. BGL has donated to Spruce Street school gala/auction for the past couple of years. Hope they make a come back to the neighborhood in the future. — TribecaMom on A string of closings, perhaps to be followed by more

Maybe if there was more affordable housing, you wouldn’t see homeless people. — MeowMix on A homeless encampment on Franklin and frustrated neighbors
I wear a very comfortable hinged shield with good air circulation outdoors. Much more comfortable than a mask and almost attractive without the foam band. Could you look at whether major stores like Whole Foods are ensuring compliance for staff and customers? On Friday I watched an unmasked customer talking to two staff behind the fish counter who had their noses uncovered, as did a number of other staff and customers. At least one other customer was unmasked. I’ve also seen staff with masks below their chins. Given the concern about aerosols, this could be a problem indoors. Thanks. — A. on Just how masked is Tribeca?
I saw Sonia walking around the park today! So exciting to see a real TriBeCa celebrity! — Kelly on Where in Tribeca?
Sonia is clearly much more observant than I. This happens to be the one right at the base of the stairs on Laight. And of course she is right again. — Tribeca Citizen on Where in Tribeca?
Hi Pam, there are 4 garbage (trash bins) bins outside the Holland Tunnel park area which is located between Laight Street and Ericsson Street. All 4 have this logo sign on them for the Holland Tunnel, regards, Sonia S. — SONIA STOCK on Where in Tribeca?
