  • Thanks for the bag-snagging! — Will Meyerhofer on Seen & Heard: Teens Attack Battery Park City Man

  • My neighbor put up scaffolding on her building, next door to mine, about a year ago. The facade of her building really needs work, so I suspect the scaffolding was simply for safety, in case a piece falls off. But there's no sign that any work has ever been done. How long can she keep the scaffolding up without addressing the issues with the crumbling facade before I can complain? — Will Meyerhofer on Seen & Heard: Work Finally Starts at Greenwich Street Hotel

  • This is an excellent article. Thanks for the comprehensive overview. I'm from Sydney, Australia, but I like to follow changes in New York. I have visited there regularly since 1996 and it's amazing to keep learning about it. I'm quite appalled at One Manhattan Square and how it ruins the view of Manhattan Bridge from many vantage points. It reminds me of an infamous building in Sydney that ruins the view of the Sydney Harbour Bridge from many angles. The building is the Blues Point Tower. Great read! Thanks a lot. — Cameron Hamill on Field Trip: Two Bridges

  • Has any of the alleged complaints or reports been verified ?? No, but you.jump to it's the parents fault and they should be hauled off to Rikers Island yet you don't have the facts ?? Where is the police report ? I just called AlliedBarton and they said it was a parent having a fight with his teen about hanging out at the park.... can we get some reporting.... does anyone know what actually happened ....what's been verified by the police? It's interesting that the person complaining of alleged incident mentions the park is designed for kids 12 and under.... why don't you take some of the money being spent on these metal fences preventing kids, residents, parents, and dogs from using the grass 7 months out of the year and allocate funds toward an outdoor space designed for kids 12 and over (tonincl adults). start there. Or how about start with reporting facts to the building and reporting it immediately to a parent. 99% of parents are probably clueless that it's even happening. The punk kids that have been mentioned in the past are high schoolers and were named Tribecas Most Wanted'... they ahve names. They are mostly from wealthy families. It takes the police and allied b to file a report and enforce. This is simple we do not live in the crime ridden corners of nyc...but the facts have to be facts and not rumors. — Stacey on Seen & Heard: Teens Attack Battery Park City Man

  • If people know who the neighborhood kids are start holding the parents accountable. Have new leases which have the right to evict residents for public safety issues. Enough is enough!!! Or start bringing the problem to the kids parents. I don’t care how privelaged you are wrong is wrong!!! — Sandra on Seen & Heard: Teens Attack Battery Park City Man

  • Also, these people's parents need to take some initiative here; its disgraceful for people with as much privilege as BPCers to be such bad parents — GA on Seen & Heard: Teens Attack Battery Park City Man

  • Time to get these kids to Rikers. If they were from projects they'd have already spent the last year or two behind bars... I'm not an advocate for the excessive incarceration, etc. but at this point these kids seriously deserve it. This also further proves that we really need people with more power patrolling the streets around here. Even those couple deputized people they're going to try out won't be enough for the whole neighborhood. When these degenerates do stuff like this, they should be getting maced or nightsticked — GA on Seen & Heard: Teens Attack Battery Park City Man

  • It's well past time. But to be clear, the worst plastic stuck in trees isn't bags but long strips of thin, tough plastic that wrap around limbs, constricting their growth. They're really hard to remove (at least from the ground) without hurting the tree. — Erik Torkells on Seen & Heard: Teens Attack Battery Park City Man

  • I would stay away from those outdoor ATMs anyway....Not only are they are eyesore, but they are higher risk of "skimming" your number than bank ATMs (ideally, those inside banks) although even those are vulnerable to some extent. — Marcus on Seen & Heard: Urgent Care Clinic Has Temporarily Closed

  • 12 Warren is a waste of architecture. — Jana on Seen & Heard: Teens Attack Battery Park City Man

  • That is basically what we did. After years in Tribeca, we finally moved out to Westchester. In the end, it just wasn't the neighborhood we moved into. All the independent / unique shops/bars/restaurants are gone. Either replaced with some mundane chain/nail shop/ Starbucks/ bank.. or worse, sitting empty and dormant as landlords jacked up the rent and are holding out for someone to pay triple the last — Julian on Souths Is Closing

  • I went to that urgent care place several years ago for what turned out to be an exceedingly minor issue. The claim they filed implied a workup that in no way resembled what they did and they claimed that I had a vastly more serious problem than was the case - allowing them to bill at a much higher rate. I filed a complaint with my insurance company because, without documentation in my file to substantiate the diagnosis and workup, reimbursement would be reduced. Nothing ever happened, I assume because “up coding” is common in the health care industry. — A. on Seen & Heard: Urgent Care Clinic Has Temporarily Closed

  • again, i admit my memory might be imperfect but i'm pretty sure the dog run was on that asphalt lot behind ps234 and it went all the way through to chambers street. when 234 was built the only playground was in front of the school. when 234 expanded into the annex space at 200 chambers, the dog run was divided in half by the access corridor. at that time, the dog run people gave up half of the dog park to create the ps 234 backyard. i believe the dog run became member only in order to finance the maintenance because the city didn't want to pay to keep it clean and the neighborhood was concerned that it could become a health hazard. my point is that the dog run, as far as i know, has always been a good neighbor and the membership aspect was never intended to be exclusive. now that there are other dog runs in the neighborhood, perhaps it's time for the city to revisit the issue. — safe as milk on In the News: Dog Run at Risk of Sinkhole
