  • 108 Leonard is simply NOT TriBeCa and it shouldn't be allowed to call/market itself as such. It is Civic Center, at best. — Triebca Talent on Where in Tribeca…?

  • You know it all - I can't wait to see this place open. We have so many skyscrapers in this city, I'm surprised there isn't a restaurant on every roof. — mm on Seen & Heard: Jill Lindsey Sneak Preview

  • Follow the money. The Mayor and City Council get big donations from the real estate industry. The industry expects something in return. — James on In the News: Concrete Tower Planned for FiDi

  • When it comes the arcades, why isn't the monetary transaction being highlighted? 200 Water Street received an ability to build higher in exchange for building an arcade. There has to be a record of the deal, even if 40 years old, and if that record doesn't have a expiration date - oh well - if 200 Water want the arcade, they can make the city an offer and buy themselves out of the deal. Taxpayers just giving them the arcade is sorta like trickle-up welfare. — J Parnell on In the News: Concrete Tower Planned for FiDi

  • Happy to get the sidewalks back... felt a bit like ducks stuck in a hunters trap navigating that lovely mess... Sad though as it seems this Hotel project does not seem to be able to move forward. Would have been great for the neighborhood. — Rohin on Seen & Heard: Greenwich Street Sidewalk Finally Reopened

  • I love Adjaye's work, but this feels so out of place. And balconies (sorry, loggias) seem to be the new trees on the roof trend. I'm always amazed at how few people actually use their's when available, and open spaces 60 stories in the air will be wind machines. — mruptight on In the News: Concrete Tower Planned for FiDi

  • Maybe giving the 1st Precinct 4 days' advance notice of a crime will enable them to actually do something about it. :-) — James on In the News: Concrete Tower Planned for FiDi

  • The Link NYC devices have a lot more expensive hardware and site preparation and underground telecom wiring back to the nearest manhole. The wayfinding pillars seem a lot cheaper and simpler to fabricate and install. — James on Seen & Heard: Greenwich Street Sidewalk Finally Reopened

  • Call your bank or credit card and dispute the charge. The bank or CC will refund your money and deal with the legal stuff. I did this because wicked did the same to me, and the problem was taken care of by my bank. — anonymous on Wicked Juice and Kitchen Has Closed

  • City marshals are not government employees. They are available for hire to enforce Civil Court orders, like eviction for nonpayment, collection of debts, etc. They are not peace officers and have nothing to do with criminal law enforcement. — James on Wicked Juice and Kitchen Has Closed

  • This is great news! A huge thank you to the landlord for helping us retain these programs that are so essential in helping our kids achieve a well rounded education — Rohin on Church Street School for Music and Art Found a New Home in Tribeca

  • What a relief to have Church Street School for Music and Arts continue providing access to children and adults to the arts in a pure and honest format w/o the pretense we see so often in what is on offer. To be relieved of the escalation of financial burdens/costs so prevalent, now, in our community - originally an artist's community; Compliments to the landlord of 41 White Street. — neighbor on Church Street School for Music and Art Found a New Home in Tribeca

  • I edited your comment because I would prefer that people not allege criminal activity without some proof. The "marshal's legal possession" sign won't have any info on it. — Erik Torkells on Wicked Juice and Kitchen Has Closed

  • Do we have a pic of the Marshall sign and/or the real reason for the closing of the juice shop? I have heard the involvement of nefarious activity. — Anonymous on Wicked Juice and Kitchen Has Closed

  • Make a complaint to NYC. https://www1.nyc.gov/apps/311universalintake/form.htm?serviceName=DOT+Street+Blocked+Construction You do NOT need to give a specific house number, e.g., "456 Greenwich Street." Note that on the page where you are asked for a location, you have the option to change the drop-down menu from "street address" to "intersection" and give the two street names that intersect. — James on Seen & Heard: Spring Studios’s Encroachment on Streets and Sidewalks
