Benvenuto takes two New York icons—the diner and the deli—and merges them into something more contemporary. Lunch is the busiest time, when it feels like a deli, with local workers pointing at the ingredients for sandwiches and salads laid out, behind glass, on a counter. In mornings and evenings, you’re more likely to see people ordering diner-style foods (egg dishes, burgers, pastas, meatloaf, etc.). Seating, such as it is, lines the windows along Franklin and Greenwich—and there are outdoor tables in summer. Note: Open 24 hours.
