Seen & Heard: Deals, Deals, and More Deals

••• Today’s deal on Groupon is a good one: $25 for $50 worth of merch at American Apparel. (But use it quickly….)

••• Blackboard Eats is offering a bottle of wine (choose from  two reds and two whites) and a Greek cheese plate at Thalassa.

••• Meanwhile, Yelp has a deal for Saluggi’s: $25 for $50 worth of food and drink. (“This is a great deal,” a reader just emailed me. “I love their pizza and their roasted brussel sprouts are amazing.”)

••• On Twitter, Lance Lappin pointed out American Express’s Small Business Saturday promotion: “Simply fill out the form and then use your registered American Express Card to shop at participating small businesses on Small Business Saturday—November 27, 2010. You’ll receive a $25 statement credit when you spend $25 or more at participating small businesses. But hurry, enrollment is limited.” I still don’t understand why the registration matters. Doesn’t Amex already know everything that’s in that form? If you know, please explain it to me—happy to keep it off the record (tribecacitizen@gmail.com). By the way, I can’t figure out—though I didn’t look that hard—which stores are participating.

••• A reminder that the Steven Alan sample sale started this morning. It’s at 87 Franklin and they’ll be accepting cash and credit cards. Through Sunday.

••• Bon Chon chicken has lost (or been stripped?) of its Chon.

  1. Lance Lappin doesn’t accept Amex themselves either.

  2. @Albert: Classic! Also, FYI to everyone, I just walked by the Steven Alan sample sale and there were at least 80 people waiting to get inside.
