Your Dentist Will Thank You

By Alyson Archer | Wondering what to do with the pounds of candy your little trick-or-treaters brought home this weekend? A few years ago, Carol Adams (right), Torly Kid owner and mom, had the same question, so she made a deal with her kids: After Halloween, they could choose seven pieces of candy to keep and trade the rest of it for a toy. They loved the idea so much that she thought others might, too—and Torly Kid’s annual candy drive was born. Bring in extra Halloween loot before Nov. 15 and you can trade it for a 10% discount on anything at the shop. This year’s bounty will be donated to the Food Bank for New York City, which will distribute the candy on Thanksgiving Day. Torly Kid is at 51 Hudson, between Jay and Duane.
