Seen & Heard: M1-5 Closed

••• M1-5 Lounge on Walker appeared to be closed by police order for “illegal sale of alcoholic beverages”—presumably to minors? UPDATE: See comments for clarification.

••• Amusing moment at Boomerang Toys the other day. Any Italian woman walked in, and apparently looking for erasers (or so it was learned later), she asked the young man behind the counter if he had any rubbers.

••• Birdbath is now selling its mac and cheese hot and individual portions.

••• Kula Yoga Project is having a sample sale (not quite sure of what) on Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.

••• Do Yoga Do Pilates is offering a yoga-and-Hula-Hoop class.

••• Alycea Ungaro’s Real Pilates is running a sale tomorrow (Thurs.) in honor of the birthday of Joe Pilates. Yes, there really was one. You can get five group classes for $128 (normally $150).

••• From Tribeca Grill: “Receive a free $25 Bonus Certificate* for every $100 in Tribeca Grill gift certificates you buy from now until the end of the year! (*Valid January 2–April 30, 2011 and exclude special holidays and NYC Restaurant Week dining periods.)”

  1. I don’t think M1-5 was closed. The restraining/closed order is on the next doorway of 56 Walker which used to be (or maybe still is?) Walker Stage and most recently, I think, home of the I.N.N. World Report? Kind of odd though.

  2. Yikes, I think you’re right that it’s not M1-5 (but no clue what it is)…. I tried calling but got a machine that said to call back between 4pm and midnight (which was when I called). Apologies to M1-5!
