Seen & Heard: Marshmallows

••• Gilt City is running three deals for Billy’s Bakery, including a dozen cupcakes for $21.

••• Here’s a new one: “A sleek, brushed-steel serving cart brimming with delectable homemade marshmallows stops at individual guestrooms every Thursday through Sunday as part of Duane Street Hotel’s newly enhanced turndown service. The ‘Marshmallow Trolley’ is commandeered by the hotel’s ‘Marshmallier’ and offers guests seasonal flavors of these unique treats, freshly prepared by acclaimed Chef Jehangir Mehta (who oversees the hotel’s popular Mehtaphor restaurant). Current flavors include lavender, violet, ginger, cardamom and thyme.” Also: Works from Pelavin Gallery artists hang throughout the hotel.

••• Two FiDi tweets from the folks at Downtown Alliance (@downtownNYC): “Yellowfin Burger Pub, a mid/upscale pub, will replace Blarney Stone Bar. The restaurant will occupy 3,750 SF space at 121 Fulton.” And “Potbelly [a sandwich shop, I think] signed a lease at 101 Maiden Lane next to Goodburger at Pearl Street.” FiDi really is a hotbed of fast food these days. Personally, I think there’s a mint to be made if Chipotle would open on Chambers—I’m not a huge fan, but it’d appeal to Stuyvesant students, BMCC students, local workers, and local parents/kids.

••• From Rare Salon: “Blowout Special! Buy 3, Get 1 Free! Until March 15, 2011, purchase a package of four blowouts for the price of three. This special package expires on April 20, 2011, so be sure to use all 4 blowouts by then!”
