The Hideaway is somewhere between a fancy bar and a dive. It forgoes the beer signs and dartboard for black-and-white photos and exposed brick (though there are still TVs). Likewise, the food is better than you’ll probably expect, and while the menu has many bar standards, the chicken for the wings is free-range, the salad includes candied walnuts, and the crab cakes come with a lemon-garlic confit-dressing. Crab, it must be mentioned, is a specialty: On summer Sundays and Mondays in season, the Hideaway hosts a popular Blue Crab Night.
