Seen & Heard: Dis Respectacles

••• A “for lease” sign in the window at 117 W. Broadway strongly implies that eyeglass-shop Disrespectacles is closing (there’s another location on Christopher) or moving. A call to the owner has yet to be returned.

••• A scene in Something Borrowed—the newest addition to the Kate Hudson oeuvre—was filmed at M1-5, or so they say.

••• Last night on “Glee,” a character (Santana?) said “As soon as we get to New York I’m bailing to live in a lesbian colony, or Tribeca.” Or so I read on Twitter.

••• A reader wrote in asking if anyone would recommend his/her building’s management company/managing agent. Must be NYC-based. Suggest in the comments or email tribecacitizen@gmail.com and I’ll pass them along.

••• The Tribeca Grand has bikes for guests: Who knew?

••• Well, well well…. Look what popped up on the agenda for tonight’s CB1 Tribeca meeting: “54-56 Franklin Street, application for new restaurant liquor license for Near and Far Food Company LLC d/b/a Near and Far Food Company.” (That’s the Lafayette Grill & Bar, where the dining-in-the-dark restaurant was going to be but bailed.) UPDATE: It’s been removed from the agenda. And: “6 Harrison Street, application for a new restaurant liquor license for Jung Sik Dang, Corp. d/b/a Jung Sik.” We knew about that, but we’ll learn more soon….

••• A reader wrote in to say that Dean’s has been closed by the Department of Health. I called at 12:45 p.m. and they said they’re working on it and hoping to reopen by 5 p.m. UPDATE: I walked by and saw no DOH sign, so it may have been closed for some other reason.
