Seen & Heard: Flash Mob Lights Up BPC

••• Coming to City Winery: Shelby Lynne (Nov. 7), Marianne Faithfull (Dec. 18–20).

••• Tribeca Greenmarket report: “New produce for Saturday, July 23: heirloom tomatoes, beefsteak tomatoes, pole beans, cranberry beans, long beans, poblano peppers, sugar plums, and ground cherries. And for Wednesday, July 27: beefsteak tomatoes, yellow and purple sugar plums, sungold cherry tomatoes, and white nectarines.”

••• I came across this cool photo from David Martin: “While watching The Hurt Locker here in 22 River Terrace in Battery Park City, I heard come weird noise which got louder and louder. I thought at first it was the surround sound but the guy was defusing a bomb so that didn’t make sense. The noise then got really loud and for a second I thought it was another crash plane landing outside my window, but nope…it was a flashmob. Quite a spectacle.” I’m assuming it was part of the River to River Festival, which had plans for something like this. While I’m borrowing his content—I couldn’t find an easy way to ask him—here’s an excellent timelapse video of footage from his apartment.
