••• Looks like the army of office workers to be deployed in the WTC complex (and those already in 7WTC) will have a new lunch option soon: Pret a Manger is coming to the southwest corner of Church and Park Place (in 100 Church). It wasn’t quite what I was hoping for when I whined about not enough lunch options below Chambers, if only because during my last real job I ate at Pret three to four times a week, and now I can’t pass by one without having flashbacks. Anyway, I peeked in and it looks pretty close.
••• Having passed its Department of Buildings inspection (subject to a supervisory review), Sarabeth’s Tribeca is now on track to open the last week of August.
••• “Goodie Girl Café is working hard this summer on coming up with new versions of our cookies! Opening back up on Sept. 15 at 146 Duane.”
••• The 2012 Tribeca Film Festival will be April 18–29.
••• Remember my question(s) about all the Verizon carts around here? One down!
(Actually, I think they may have been towing the motorcycle that had been locked to the cart, but whatever, I’ll take it.)
