••• The new Add Accessories shop on W. Broadway has opened. What I learned today: It’s pronounced “add” and not like attention-deficit disorder.

••• A reader sent this in: “I’ve visited Girello a few times since they opened. I understood your comment about lack of salt/seasoning originally on their pizzas. On my two recent visits, I ordered the margherita with the addition of parmigiano. It really improves the pizza, plus their crust has been great—thin and crispy. I’ve lamented the lack of great pizza in the neighborhood also, and I think this place is an improvement.”

Saturdays: Apples (honeycrisp, gingergold, fuji, cortland, macoun, paula red, gala—including some NOFA cerified organic varities), bartlett pears, bosc pears, concord grapes, green grapes, heirloom tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, sungold tomatoes, pumpkins, acorn squash, butternut squash, sweet potatoes, many eggplant varieties, bok choy, swiss chard, kale, collards, tatsoi, mustard greens, tomatillos, cabbage, arugula, lettuces, radishes, peppers, cauliflower, broccoli, okra, green beans, purple beans, romano beans, beets, carrots and more.” The purple beans,while a bit pricey, were delicious. But they lose the purple when you blanch them, just FYI.
