Seen & Heard: Asphalt Green Delayed Again

••• Sigh: “We are disappointed to inform you, our valued Charter Members, that we have learned the opening of Asphalt Green Battery Park City will be delayed from the original projection of February 1, 2012 as essential approvals are still pending. A firm date for completion has not yet been provided and we will update you in the coming weeks once an opening date is determined by the Battery Park City Authority.” I think anyone in New York can understand that construction rarely gets done on time. But let’s not get revisionist about opening dates here; the sales team was saying November 1, and the PR folks were saying Jan. 1. The February opening is a recent notion. (It’s frustrating because AGBPC already charged the first month’s dues.) Even worse, to compensate they’re offering five free guest passes to the facility on E. 90th between York and East End. Fire up the helicopter!

••• From Torly Kid: “We are starting a new tradition in Tribeca! Sat. December 17, we will be caroling the ‘hood. [Sounds like an Ice Cube holiday special!] Starting at Torly Kid at 4:30 p.m. Email me if you want to join us.”

••• Not related: 50 Cent will make an appearance at J&R Music World on Thursday at 12:30 p.m.

••• For the coffee addict in your life: “La Colombe T-shirts are now available for purchase on our website! Get one while supplies last. Three designs available in men’s and women’s size.”

••• From CB1: “Please note that the date of our full board meeting has been moved from Tuesday, December 2o to Wednesday, December 21. […] We will still be meeting at the Three Legged Dog Art and Technology Center, 80 Greenwich Street (at Rector Street), in Studio A at 6 p.m.”
