••• I was walking down Franklin yesterday afternoon when I saw that By Joy Gryson appeared to be open! But it wasn’t. Still, I met Joy, who said that the boutique will soft-open Aug. 20, with an official opening set for Sept. 6 (Fashion’s Night Out).
••• Two updates on All Good Things, the marketplace coming to the same block of Franklin Street…. I hear the chef at the downstairs restaurant will be Ryan Tate, late of Savoy. And the florist, which wasn’t official when I first wrote about AGT, will be Polux Fleuristes.
••• The TV show “Smash” is shooting on Duane this Friday.
••• A reader wrote in asking about the clothing store at 45 White, across from Let There Be Neon, so I wandered over. It’s called White Neon, and it’s a pop-up open through August. (“We might reopen here in October,” said the clerk.) I hadn’t heard of the “European women’s” labels (Apart, Explosion, Koton…), but that doesn’t mean much.
••• I ran into Erin Garmont of Woodrow’s last night at the Tribeca Meet & Greet organized by BMCC Tribeca Performing Arts Center. She said that the restaurant hosts a trivia night on the first Monday of every month (except September, when it’s the following Tuesday second Monday). I may have to wander over there and drop some knowledge.
••• Smith & Mills has sidewalk seating?
