Seen & Heard: Church Street Kitchen

••• Thanks to Claudia for sending over a photo of what Kool Bloo is turning into. There’s no clue online—the only Church Street Kitchen I came upon was in Montclair, N.J., and user reviews mention both Wild Game Night and piña colada bread pudding, which made it seem like more of a sit-down affair.

••• Speaking of photos: I’m looking for ones of Tribeca sunsets. Instagram pix are fine. Email them to tribecacitizen@gmail.com; I’ll assume I can print your name unless you say otherwise.

••• An email from Jonathan: “I know the Post Office and traditional mail are slowly withering away but I just noticed today that the W. Broadway & Warren mailbox is gone and ditto for the Duane & W. Broadway mailbox. What’s up with that? Are we expected to drop mail off at the new IHOP?” I don’t know if I have the stamina to engage with the U.S. Postal Service on a Nosy Neighbor quest—I can’t even imagine trying to find the right person to ask—so let’s hope it’s temporary. A year or so ago, one of the mailboxes at Broadway and Chambers disappeared, but then it came back after a couple of days. Maybe the mailbox union insists on a vacation now and then.

••• “Pen Parentis Literary Salons are thrilled to announce that our eighth season launch will be in […] the private dining room at Wall and Water, the […] restaurant on the second floor of the stunning Andaz Wall Street Hotel.” It’s Sept. 11. Who’s reading: John Reed, Rene Steinke, and Theodore Hamm.
