••• By Joy Gryson, the handbag boutique coming to 106 Franklin, was originally soft opening yesterday and officially opening on Sept. 6. Then came a press release that the opening was Sept 6, with no mention of the soft opening. The PR rep at the Krupp Group won’t return calls or emails, so who knows.

••• “I work next to Ground Zero, and from here, the logical explanation appears to be the installation of illuminated red EXIT signs inside the building.” That’s from Laura, on the post about why 1 World Trade is lit red. (I think the original question was about a more intentional effect, but now we know why there’s residual redness.)
