••• 38 Walker (above) bring converted from commercial to residential. The ground floor and cellar will remain commercial, according to the permit.
••• The building going up at 84 White (right; a.k.a. 84-86 White, east of Broadway) looks like it’s going to have some funk up at the top. There’s no public rendering… yet. Update: “I live right across from 84 White and therefore I’m pretty interested in what’s going up there! I contacted the contractor who told me they are done construction on the height of the building. It will be a high-end rental; 34 units with duplexes and a triple penthouse (with an outdoor pool). Marketing should start in the new year and they hope to complete it by June 2013.” (Underlining mine.)
••• Aqua, the aquatic fitness studio under construction at 78 Franklin, now has a sign in the window and a placeholder website: aquastudiony.com.
••• From the World Financial Center: “A collection box for canned food is in the Winter Garden through Nov. 21 (including weekends).”
••• My tingling sense appears to have been right: The Theater Bar space at 114 Franklin (left) is undergoing demo. I’ll miss the wallpaper.
••• From local lawyer Daniel Gershburg: “I purchased and am donating two tickets to the Nov. 17 Louis CK benefit show on Staten Island for any family affected by Sandy. I know how much comedy helps to get your mind off things sometimes.” First folks to email Daniel get the tickets—and don’t tempt karma by acting more put out than you were.
