Mail Boxes Etc. Is Closing

I heard from a tipster that Mail Boxes Etc.—a longtime fixture on Greenwich Street—is closing at the end of the year. The tipster also said TD Bank was taking over the space, which made sense because we already knew it had grabbed the two spaces to the north and east (most recently Amanzi Tea and Eve’s Pharmacy). “Might as well make it a bank that does nails,” said my source, for obvious reasons.

When I called the store to confirm its closing, I asked if they were planning on reopening in the neighborhood. “We hope so,” was the answer.

    Well, I guess it’s the Canal St P.O. with their lovely customer service for us :(

    oh no, i will miss Mail box ect… they were always so nice and helpful and quick in there. I will miss them dearly..

    okay, I know I said I was over nail salons, but seriously, another bank? and here is a huge TD near the corner of Hudson and Duane. I don’t want another bank! (I was hoping for a great sandwich space!)
