••• Want to help Hudson River Park get Pier 25 back on its pilings? There’s an event this Monday at the apartment of a Friends of Hudson River Park board member. RSVP to Blake Beatty at events@fohrp.org or 212-757-0981. As I’ve said before, this is our park; we should take care of it—and that’s even more so regarding Pier 25. “The money donated to The Hudson River Park Playground Fund will be matched dollar for dollar up to $100,000 thanks to a generous early contribution.” Can’t make it? Donate online.

••• From the Salty Paw pet-supply shop in the Seaport: “We are happy to announce we have found a NEW space to move into at 254 Front St.”

••• When did the DOT put those gravel-y areas at Watts and Canal? And why?

  1. A couple of weeks before the flood. Seems to help curb the craziness taking place with cars cutting into the tunnel entrances.
Also definitely a lot safer to cross and keeps more traffic on Canal street (which is a sad state of affairs anyway)
    I think this was great!
