1WTC spire going down Greenwich by Isabelle French1WTC spire by D 1WTC spire2 by Nicole Vianna••• Thanks to Hayley Man, Isabelle French, an anonymous reader, and Nicole Vianna, respectively, for the four shots above of 1 World Trade Center’s spire heading down Greenwich and being positioned atop the building. (If more keep coming in I’ll have to start another post! Which doesn’t mean I don’t want them! Email me at tribecacitizen@gmail.com.)

••• Apparently I wasn’t the only person wondering about that food truck on Duane. “Nothing against this food truck either,” emailed a reader, “but this one should really go somewhere else! They wouldn’t move while this bus filled with people going to work was trying to go by! People actually came out of the bus and the three ladies inside the food truck were just laughing….” Today it’s on W. Broadway, but that seems to be just because of yet another TV shoot on Duane.

P1010756••• 403 Greenwich has lost at least its top floor. Renderings of the what’s coming are here.

••• Speaking of film shoots: Bitter Pill is being shot on Varick and Duane and other streets this Sunday. IMDB lists a completed short with that title, as well as a feature in production called Side Effects with a similar synopsis: “A woman turns to prescription medication as a way of handling her anxiety concerning her husband’s upcoming release from prison.” Directed by Steven Soderbergh and starring Rooney Mara, Channing Tatum (by the way, Magic Mike was way overrated), Jude Law, and Catherine Zeta-Jones.

••• 137 Franklin, the building almost done at the corner of Varick, must have realized the sign about the subway entrance outside was a bit out of date. (The sign does say 2013, by the way.)

  1. The food truck can’t be doing well in that location, I’ve yet to see anyone actually buy something from it. You’d think they would want to find a location that piggy backs off the Whole Foods lunch crowd…
