The Steven Alan Home Shop, first written about here, has opened at 158 Franklin, in the space that was formerly Steven Alan’s headquarters. Alan described the wares to T Magazine as “organic modern” and a bit “crunchy,” and I’d say there’s more Berkeley here than modern-day Tribeca. (Tribeca in the 1970s, maybe.) That’s not a bad thing! There’s a little of everything, from thumb tacks to carpets, frozen vegetables to plants, and the shop manages to be both precious and earnest—and a treat to browse.
Steven Alan Home Shop is at 158 Franklin (between Hudson and Varick), 646-402-9661; stevenalan.com.
