Seen & Heard: More Traffic Management

white and sixth 41313••• So now the Department of Transportation is stopping westbound traffic on White Street from turning right onto Sixth? (This is on top of setting up pylons every weekday to force tunnel traffic to the left side of Sixth.) The amount of time, effort, and money involved in this stuff is mind-boggling. Plus, there’s no warning?

ramps••• There were ramps at the Tribeca Greenmarket this morning—even if you don’t like ramps, it’s exciting to see something not overwintered or from a greenhouse.

••• From Taste of Tribeca: “We are gearing up for the 19th annual Taste of Tribeca with a kick-off cocktail party on Wednesday, May 1, from 6-9 p.m. at Macao Trading Co.  Cocktail party tickets are $75 per person and include a General Taste Ticket to Taste of Tribeca.” Also: Aamanns-Copenhagen and Dirty Bird To-Go are among the new restaurants signed on for Taste of Tribeca this year.

••• The undesigned tenth floor of 1 York has hit the market for $22 million, for which I’d think you could rightfully expect get more private outdoor space than a narrow balcony.

••• From Seaport pet-supply shop Salty Paw: “Our team is up early finishing last-minute details! Can’t wait for everyone to see our new temp home [at Pier 17]! Opening at 10 a.m.!”

••• There’s a moving sale today and tomorrow; see flyer at left.

••• Half of the auction proceeds from the Downtown Little School’s annual benefit will go to the Mayor’s Fund for Hurricane Relief—so you should think about attending, donating, or simply buying a raffle ticket even if you have no affiliation. The event is Friday, May 10, at the Children’s Museum of the Arts. Check out the auction at dlsauction.com.

••• I thought this was funny (and I’m fond of the Saturdays brand even though the jacket I bought last winter has a cheap, dodgy zipper).
