The fourth boutique in Megan Chiarello’s Gloria Jewel empire—the others are in the Hamptons—has opened on W. Broadway between Drybar and Starbucks. While the Tribeca outpost has a less beachy, more urban vibe (note the concrete floor), the merchandise is the same. Gloria Jewel does carry some jewelry, but nothing fancy; “Jewel” was one of Chiarello’s grandmother’s names. (Any guesses for the other grandmother’s name?) You’ll find women’s clothing, handbags, scarves, and sunglasses. Manager Erica Marini says popular brands include AG Jeans, Autumn Cashmere, 360 Sweater, Ray-Ban (“We’ve sold six pairs already”), and Mondrina bags, made in Peru exclusive to Gloria Jewel. What you see now is just the beginning; more is coming, including Lure swimwear.
Gloria Jewel is at 180 W. Broadway (between Leonard and Worth), 646-490-8228; gloriajewel.com. Open seven days.
