Crossfit 212 Is Expanding in a Big Way

212crossfit jim mcdadeCrossFit 212 only opened on Franklin a year and a half ago, but it’s already expanding: It’s taking 5,000 square feet (most below street level) at 281 Broadway, as the commercial side of 57 Reade is known. (In other words, it’s near Chipotle.) “Due to very high demand we’re expanding into 281 Broadway and keeping Franklin Street open,” emailed founder Jim McDade (right) in response to my query. “Membership is reciprocal to both locations. In addition to classes, 84 Franklin will also serve as a corrective exercise and rehabilitation studio, called Mobility Lab. We will also host new programs such as Restorative Yoga, CrossFit Kids and 212GO!, a bootcamp style class for those that are not ready for a full-on CrossFit class. The Yoga class is already in full swing at 84 Franklin.”

Anyone curious to learn more can visit the CrossFit Kids booth at Saturday’s Washington Market School Street Fair.

(That still leaves one ground-floor space on Broadway….)
