In the News: Corton Is Going on Hiatus

corton 21213••• “Corton, Drew Nieporent and Paul Liebrandt’s critically acclaimed Tribeca fine dining restaurant, is currently closed for a one-month break. A message on the restaurant’s website announces the break, and Nieporent tells Eater: ‘We’re on summer vacation.’ The restaurateur also notes that they might extend it a few weeks into next month, but nothing has been decided yet.” Uh oh. I hate to be Mr. Bummer, but this is what happened last July, when Centrico—another Nieporent establishment—announced it was closed temporarily, and it never reopened. Rumors about Corton have been swirling for a while, and Liebrandt has one, maybe two, new places in the works…. I’d call the corporate office to ask, but why? Just so I can be yelled at? —Eater

It also includes 7,500 square feet of additional air rights for development.” Note: 118-120 is the two buildings in the photo. —The Real Deal
