Seen & Heard: Halloween Party

361 broadway••• I hear that TD Bank is taking—or at least interested in doing so—the retail space at beautiful 361 Broadway (southwest corner of Franklin).

••• Austrian (and beyond) furniture shop Stillfried Wien is open at 40 Walker. Full report to follow….

••• Congratulations to Art Projects International on Greenwich; the gallery celebrates its 20th anniversary this year with an exhibit kicking off Nov. 14.

••• And congratulations to ARChive of Contemporary Music, which says it was successful in its effort to set a Guinness World Record for largest bhangra dance.

••• My mistake: This Saturday’s pumpkin party at Washington Market Park is actually being hosted by Lower Manhattan Community Church (and not the Friends of WaMaPa).

••• Speaking of Halloween: “New York City’s annual Screamin’ Green Halloween celebration returns to Brookfield Place on Sunday, October 27. The annual earth-friendly party will feature games like ‘Bobbin’ for Apples’ and ‘Pin a Face on the Pumpkin,’ and kids will be treated to organic and fair-trade sweets. The fun continues with lots of interactive art projects, hands-on activities, and costumed entertainers and large-scale puppets wandering the indoor Winter Garden and outdoor waterfront plaza. Kids are also encouraged to bring last year’s costume to exchange for a new one at the Costume Swap. The festivities culminate at 3pm with a Ghost and Goblins Parade through Battery Park City, led by a rousing marching band.”

••• And speaking of Brookfield Place: Canstruction, where architecture firms design structures from canned goods, runs Oct. 31 through Nov. 13. “Visitors are encouraged to bring high-quality, non-perishable cans, which will be donated, along with the cans used in the exhibition, to City Harvest.”

••• From a resident of the Atalanta: The CB1 agenda that mentioned a rooftop addition on the building got it wrong. The permit is for penthouse terrace work.

  1. Do we really, really, really need another bank in Tribeca?

  2. No, what we need is another CB1-approved restaurant from Bouley, Nieporent, Forgione, or Ambramcyk – Thank you, Mgmt. Remember, Please Be Courtesy to Our Neighbors and Keep Your Voices and Noise Level Low. (Cough, cough – Blaue Gans and their Octnoxious Octoberfest Sidewalk Cafe Idiots.)
