••• Tribeca Medical Center at 303 Greenwich is moving to 111 Broadway. That opens up some prime retail space….
••• New Spanish restaurant Tablao starting serving lunch today; it’ll do every day from now on (although not this upcoming Sunday, when it’s hosting a private event). Owner Frank Castro sent a thoughtful email in response to my First Impressions post, including this: “One of the things that is very important to me is to offer my guests the best product and preparation possible. I have worked my whole life for this opportunity and want to address any issues immediately so they do not occur again.” Please do give Tablao a try!
••• Charlie from Añejo confirmed that the Hell’s Kitchen restaurant and “tequileria” is indeed opening an outpost at Church and Walker in the old Bread Tribeca space.
••• Luis Vazquez of the FiDi Fan Page says that Tous Creperie & Espresso Bar opened this morning at 125 Maiden Lane. And he asked if I wouldn’t mind posting one more time the link to the petition objecting to the city’s misguided plan to move a probation office to John Street.
••• I smell a pop-up coming to 64 N. Moore. Know anything?

Factual inaccuracies in the anti-Probation petition:
The New York City Department of Probation, part of the Criminal Court
– incorrect. It is part of NYC’s Criminal Justice System.
The NYC DOP provides services and investigations for more than 30,000 adults and 15,000 juveniles per year, and supervises approximately 24,000 adults and 2,000 juveniles on any given day, according to information linked to the DOP’s website.
– citywide numbers, not just Manhattan
During working hours, there is already heavy traffic and little parking… This does not seem like a sensible move… for the DOP’s operations…
– concern about DOP? Parking? You’re kidding, right?
– a major government agency will be vacating a large building on John St, reducing traffic by thousands.
