••• A good way to warm up on a cold day: cartons of City Bakery hot chocolate at Birdbath.
••• Peter sent in a pic of the signage at the upcoming Gourmet Garage store on Broadway.
••• Tribeca Cinemas will screen Ghostbusters on March 21 in memory of Harold Ramis.
••• I was walking down Church today when I heard the awful noise made by the 56 Leonard hoist (as discussed at last night’s meeting of the Community Board 1 Tribeca Committee). I videoed it, but the wind made the audio less than super. Still, you can get a sense of the noise, especially in the last second. And then imagine how in real life it was much louder, audible as far south as Duane Street.
••• From Brookfield Place: “On Friday, March 14, Culinary Works, located in the Winter Garden, will close for business.” It was an airport-style food kiosk.
••• M.M. De Voe of Pen Parentis noticed that a sandwich shop called d Elici will open on Nassau near John.
