Seen & Heard: Camping Out for Rosé Sneakers

••• The Concepts store is indeed on Hudson just above Canal. People were camped out yesterday to wait for a special “rosé” New Balance sneaker. Seriously. UPDATE: I hear there are around 200 people lined up this morning.

Concepts••• More of the “sterling” side of the Sterling Mason is being applied. I still think I’m going to like the building, and maybe there’s some sort of finishing touch yet to come (the PR rep won’t respond), but right now it hardly looks as if it was “dipped in molten aluminum,” as said on the website.

Sterling Mason masonry••• The Jack Erwin shoe store (or whatever it is) looks very close to opening. Attractive space; it reminded me of a fancy residential kitchen. (UPDATE: The Wall Street Journal says is indeed more of a showroom than a shop: You can try shoes on, and then order online. It opens Nov. 13.)

Jack Erwin••• Opening Nov. 12 at Hal Bromm Gallery: “Insecure,” with works by Frederic Amat, Wayne Bartlett, Rosemarie Castoro, Luis Frangella, Mark Golderman, Keith Haring, Sue Hettmansperger, Alex Markwith, Vincent Pomilio, Richard Prince, and David Wojnarowicz. The work below is by Luis Frangella.

from Insecure courtesy hal Bromm••• For the next two Fridays, from noon till around 8 p.m., Downtown Alliance is throwing an event called Fall Fun Food! at the Albany Street Plaza, with “NY State beer, wine and hard ciders, burgers from Bill’s Bar & Burger, barbecue from Jimmy’s No. 43, Tito King’s Wings, live music, and a ‘selfie’ photo booth in front of 1 World Trade Center.” Admission is free and food is $6-$10.
