In the News: Lunch at Little Park

••• Sheldon Silver continues to reach new lows! “Prosecutors and F.B.I. agents have also been able to determine that for some time, Mr. Silver had failed to disclose income from another law firm besides Weitz & Luxenberg, the people said. (Spokesmen for the F.B.I. and the United States attorney’s office declined to comment.) It is not known what Mr. Silver did to earn this income. Both people characterized the discovery as potentially significant, but emphasized that no evidence had yet been uncovered to suggest that he had committed a crime. […] Critics have long drawn a connection between Mr. Silver’s employment by Weitz & Luxenberg and his steadfast opposition to tort-reform legislation.” You think? The New York Times

••• Little Park starts serving lunch on Wednesday. The menu is at right; it’s the same as dinner with a handful of substitutions. Still no word on brunch. —Eater

••• Some clarity from Battery Park City Authority board member Martha Gallo’s decision to recuse herself from the North Cove Marina vote: “Gallo, the only board member who lives in Battery Park City, said that she needed to recuse herself because she is a member of Fortenbaugh’s Manhattan Sailing Club, has a boat that she keeps in the marina and has children who have taken sailing lessons there. She said that she had a conflict of interest.” —Downtown Post NYC

••• Westfield sent out a press release officially announcing tenants for the Mall of Freedom® in the World Trade Center. (That was a joke, I hope.) “…with fashion ranging from Stuart Weitzman to Banana Republic and salons from the high-end John Barrett and Caudalie. Most of the names listed here fell into a few distinct categories, like shoes (L.K. Bennett, Cole Haan, Aldo, Dune London), accessories (Swatch, Thomas Sabo, Folli Follie, Pandora, Tissot, Fossil, Edward Beiner, Designer Eyes, Longines, Links of London), and beauty (L’Occitane).” I have to go through and see what hasn’t already been whispered; I don’t think there’s much new here. UPDATE: I was wrong; all of the above was news except for John Barrett, Stuart Weitzman, and Dune London. —Racked

••• It’s Just Salad is is opening at 90 Broad tomorrow. —DNAinfo

  1. Just Salad was already open yesterday

  2. BPC lost the marina. BPCA just told Fortenbaugh that there would be no extension on the lease and he needs to leave to make room for Farkas or Brookfield…..so sad.
