••• When Community Board 1 sent out its revised January agendas on Jan. 9, there was no mention on the Tribeca Committee agenda of a presentation (presumably by the NYC DDC) about the upcoming reconstruction of Worth Street. But now it’s on the CB1 website. The meeting is tonight. I’ll be there so you’ll get a full report on Thursday, but if you live on Worth, you might want to come hear for yourself. The meeting is at 6 p.m., or whenever the committee members show up, at 49-51 Chambers, 7th floor; bring gin ID. UPDATE: Scratch that. CB1 neglected to update its online agenda. The presentation is delayed till February.
••• The NYPD 1st Precinct tweeted a clarification about the temporary complex going up at Canal and Varick for the All-Star Game: “NBA is hosting this event. Nike is a sponsor. Event will be Feb 13 to 16. Permits are through March 2 for breakdown.”
••• From Tamid: “We’re partnering with our downtown interfaith network friends on MLK Day in honor of the National Day of Service. We’ll join together to honor a vision of hope, peace, and equality and will make meals for the homeless. Please join us and invite a friend—it’s in partnership with Trinity Wall Street, Lower Manhattan Community Church, and Park 51. 10 a.m. to noon, Monday, January 19, at St. Paul’s Chapel (209 Broadway). RSVP: cbroussard@tamidnyc.org.”
••• From Stacie Bloom: “The souvenir shop at 125 Church is sadly going out of business tomorrow [today]. The owner is the nicest man.” A shame: His merch, at least as seen from outside, didn’t take the low road like the Canal Street schlockmeisters. Plus, I often walk Howard by there in the afternoon, and I always liked catching him jogging in place.
••• A pop-up called Skin Gym has opened at the Seaport (at Front and John): “Skin Gym Face Fitness believes face exercise and massage is the best skin care product there is and helps you to achieve beauty from the inside out. The signature face workouts are designed to tighten and firm the muscles of the face, which increase the skin’s vitality and leave a more supple radiant finish. The final result leaves you event-ready, workouts can be done over your makeup & no one will suspect you just had a facial.”
••• Mulberry & Vine is jumping on the brodo bandwagon: “We’re rolling out bone broth tomorrow/Thursday. Tomorrow we’ll have the beef broth made with kombu and bonito. Thursday we’ll have beef and chicken.”
••• Opening Jan. 22 at Art Projects International: “The New Four Seasons, a solo exhibition of works by Myong Hi Kim that focuses on her most recent four large oil pastel on chalkboard works. In these ambitious works, Kim returns to a subject and a medium she has previously explored; a pond, hosting the reflection of surrounding wood and sky, and a bit of the wood itself are depicted in spring, summer, fall, and winter.”
