Seen & Heard: Affordable Housing Guide

••• Coming up at Front Art Space: “43 Preguntas, a solo installation of new work by Dionisio Cortes Ortega. Please join us on Thursday, February 12, from 68 p.m., for the exhibition opening. 43 Preguntas is an installation in reaction to the disappearance of 43 students from the Rural Teachers’ School of Ayotzinapa.”

••• Tonight’s main Community Board 1 meeting has been postponed and tentatively rescheduled for Thursday, February 5.

••• I overheard a swimmer at Asphalt Green say that work has finally started on the BMCC pool. When it will be done, of course, is impossible to guess.

••• From Tom Goodkind: “I’m so happy to report after a full summer of work updating the Stabilization Guide, Affordable Housing Report, and writing the Unit Owner’s Guide for our area, CB1 has released the first of the reports, Stabilization.” The PDF is here.

••• The Very Hungry Caterpillar & Other Eric Carle Favourites will be at the BMCC Tribeca Performing Arts Center on February 28.

  1. Hello, I would love a more thorough update, or any update, on the BMCC pool. It appears to still have a lot of.work to go. Yet it does not yet appear like they’ll eliminate it, my great fear! I’m a faculty member at the college. It’s hard to remember but I think it closed in spring 2013? Maybe 2012? It’s taken soooooo long. Thank you!
