Seen & Heard: Jacadi Kidswear Store Is Open

••• A reader noticed that French kidswear brand Jacadi‘s new store on Reade is open. I’m up to my ears in “New Kid on the Block” posts, so you’ll have to wait a week or two for the full report. In the meantime, tell ’em Tribeca Citizen sent you, unless you plan on being difficult, in which case you need not mention it.

••• The sidewalk shed around Citigroup’s soon-to-be-one buildings has started going up. If you missed it, the full details of the five-year project are explained here.

Citigroup sidewalk shed••• From Notify NYC: “There will be a fireworks display off Ellis Island [today], June 11, at 10:40 p.m.”

••• Dirty Bird To-Go is now serving craft beer and wine by the glass and bottle: “Also, we can deliver beer if people order through our website!”

••• I’ve been trying for years to convince my husband, Adam, to consider meditation for stress management—life with me ain’t easy—and he’s finally opened up to the possibility. I said I’d look into places nearby where he could learn…. Then, when I was poking around 404 Broadway about Chipotle, I noticed the office for something called OneTaste. Back home, I Googled it: “We developed a practice called Orgasmic Meditation that makes it possible for anyone, man or woman, single or coupled, to harness the power of Orgasm, and embrace what already exists. We don’t have to change anything about ourselves to access it; we just have to explore what’s inside of us, while being in connection with another person. […] Orgasmic Meditation is a wellness practice (like yoga and pilates) that is designed for singles and couples to experience more connection, vitality, pleasure, and meaning in every aspect of their lives.” I fully support anything that makes other people more agreeable, but Adam didn’t think Orgasmic Meditation was what he had in mind, so if anyone knows of a place or private instructor around here teaching non-orgasmic meditation, please let me know. Ideally, spiritual jargon would be kept to a minimum.
