Seen & Heard: The Dancer Mural is Done

••• JR’s mural at 100 Franklin is done. What a delightful August surprise! There’s more at the original post. UPDATE: “This image is of the amazing New York City Ballet Principal Dancer, Lauren Lovette,” comments Fredrick. “In 2014, JR and NYCB collaborated on an installation at the Company’s Lincoln Center home out of which grew other work, including a film, Les Bosquets, that was directed by JR and feature Ms. Lovette and Lil’ Buck.” Here’s the teaser for the film.

••• An item was added to the agenda for the August meeting of the Community Board 1 Landmarks Committee: “136 Beekman St., application for rooftop addition.” (It’s Aug. 13 at 6 p.m. at 1 Centre St., Room 2202 North.)

••• The sewer-y stench at the northwest corner of Chambers and Church is back. I’m not sure who you even complain to about this kind of thing, but if I were the businesses on that block, I’d be looking into it.

••• Press release: “Juice Generation will open its new Downtown flagship store at 101 Maiden Lane on Wednesday, August 12.”

••• Jeff’s parents must be so proud. The chips were front and center at the Duane Reade on Greenwich (along with the Chicken & Biscuit variety), if you’re stoned and having cravings.

  1. I agree about that stench. It’s unreal how bad it is — how does that get addressed?

We walk by every morning and have to hold our breath!

  2. What a gorgeous Mural! We are so lucky to have things like that pop up in our hood.

  3. Gorgeous…but one big problem. The buildings never gave permission — or where even asked for permission — for their walls to be used. A reliable source told me that the developer of the triangular lot in front somehow got the permits for the walls he does not own. The theft of Tribeca continues.
