Seen & Heard: The Beekman Hotel Got Pushed Back

••• Instead of the Feb. 1 opening it had been shooting for, the Beekman hotel is now looking at a late spring/early summer opening. No word on the restaurants.

••• Speaking of restaurants: Tomorrow (Wednesday) from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. is the annual Dine Around Downtown event featuring “selected offerings from 44 Lower Manhattan restaurants and cafes.” It’s at 28 Liberty.

••• Check out this chunk of bluestone that’s been sitting outside 12 Warren. Is it meant for the façade (rendering below)?

12 Warren bluestone12 Warren rendering by MARCH••• I should probably hold this for an Enthusiasms post but who knows if I’ll ever get around to doing another one. If you’re in the Grand Central Terminal area, you must check out Urban Space Vanderbilt (at Vanderbilt and 45th)—it’s an excellent food hall with an awkward name. And the No. 7 Veggie stall—a sister to No. 7 Sub—makes the most amazing veggie burger. Order the deluxe version. (It’s a very tasty sandwich that succeeds a burger, not just a veggie burger.) I’ve wanted No. 7 to open somewhere down here since forever. Don’t you think it’d be great in the old Saluggi’s Sandwich Shoppe space at Church and Lispenard? Come to think of it, why is there not even a “for rent” sign up there? Is the owner waiting for the other two leases to run out…?

No 7 Veggie burger••• Congratulations to Pen Parentis, which is starting an L.A. branch.

••• Besides the Django inside the Roxy—that sounds like a double euphemism, doesn’t it?—the Silver Lining guys have also opened their Bed-Stuy jazz bar, Stop Time.

••• And the El Luchador guys are working on a Lower East Side outpost.
