••• Ibiza has opened its new Duane Street store: “We opened our doors yesterday,” emailed the owners, “although there remain many, many details yet to go. We have no Internet and no credit card capabilities yet, but we’re welcoming all our new neighbors and customers (sales on a cash basis until the phone connections are available).” Full report to come next week.

••• Imitation is the sincerest form of fundraising: P.S. 3 is throwing a “Taste of…” event called West Village Eats this Saturday. There are some notable restaurants participating, including Piora, Perry St, RedFarm, Untitled, Dell’Anima, Kesté, Mah-Ze-Dahr Bakery, and the Little Owl. If Perry St serves its chocolate pudding with candied violets, by all means get it.
