Last weekend’s Halloween parade/party at Washington Market Park was just the kickoff: A second wave of trick-or-treaters will emerge on Saturday (Halloween proper), and I hear from the folks at ROC that it and “most other stores and restaurants” will hand out entitlements from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Other festivities are in this recent sponsored round-up; only after it came out did I learn about Warburg Realty’s Halloween party for kids—with “treats, tricks, and prizes”—this Friday from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Adults can enjoy Halloween, too, and without having to dress up as a sexy Kim Davis. Let’s look at some of the noteworthy Halloween decorations that have sprung up around the neighborhood…. I’ll add more as I come across them or of course send pix to tribecacitizen@gmail.com.

The townhouse at 24-26 Warren has brought out its big jack-o’-lantern again (but I’m especially partial to the pumpkin that eats its young).

Kudos must be given to anyone who actually tries to creep people out. This mannequin at A Uno might haunt your dreams. Can’t you feel those tiny bony hands on your tender throat?

One hopes these disembodied heads at 502 Canal are lit demonically at night….

Other local businesses have decorations that might seem to discourage you from patronizing them. Reverse psychology, perhaps? To wit: Is that an ghoulish dentist at Tribeca Dental Studio?

The grand prize goes to the body parts-as-meat in the windows of Gee Whiz Diner. “Make that a veggie burger, please….”

As for costume ideas, I think we can agree that the last one on this list is the most terrifying.

Last but not least, here’s hoping that 50 Hudson has something spectacular in store for us this year…. Last year’s big black cat, which appeared to be stalking passersby, was a definite highlight.
