True Food Kitchen Is Opening at Brookfield Place

True Food Kitchen logoThe True Food Kitchen chain is opening a two-story restaurant at Brookfield Place. It’ll be on Vesey. Here’s the release; I boldfaced two parts.

Sam Fox has signed the lease for a New York City space to house his True Food Kitchen restaurant. Fox, a winner of the Richard Melman Award, is a two-time James Beard semifinalist, co-author of The New York Times best-selling cookbook True Food: Seasonal, Sustainable, Simple, Pure, and has been ranked one of the most powerful people in the industry by Nation’s Restaurant News.

Fox’s first-ever New York City restaurant, True Food Kitchen, is one of the last remaining restaurants to join the highly anticipated restaurant row of Brookfield Place in the Battery Park neighborhood of Manhattan. The 7,566-square-foot space will spread over two stories as well as feature an outdoor, covered patio on the ground floor of the complex, neighboring the northeast retail entrance and adjacent to chef Jose Garces’ restaurant Amada. [So I think it’s the part shown above, or at least near it.] The Brookfield Place True Food Kitchen is projected to open in early fall 2016.

True Food Kitchen, one of the most popular brands in Fox’s impressive 15-concept portfolio, is the pioneer of restaurants leading the wave for healthy dining. Fox worked with the revered health and lifestyle guru Dr. Andrew Weil to create the menu, which is inspired by Dr. Weil’s anti-inflammatory diet, and features clean, nutritious items including gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan options.

“The focus on delicious food that happens to be incredibly healthy is the reason True Food Kitchen has become a local favorite everywhere it has opened,” shared Fox, founder of Fox Restaurant Concepts. “This New York City location is important to us because it’s in a neighborhood filled with active, health-minded people. The deal has been in the works for awhile, and we’re thrilled to announce we’ll be joining Brookfield Place’s restaurant row.”

“True Food Kitchen is the real thing.  They are the pioneers of the local seasonal menu brought to the masses,” explained Michael Goldban, Senior Vice President of Retail Leasing at Brookfield Property Partners. He added, “It has become a veritable institution in Santa Monica and in Scottsdale and we feel that New Yorkers will embrace them with gusto!”

The full-service restaurant will offer a selection of shareable appetizers, salads made of organic produce, and signature mainstays. All items on the menu contribute to an anti-inflammatory diet with expansive health benefits. Some favorite dishes include the Inside Out Quinoa Burger and Spaghetti SquashCasserole—as well as seasonal dishes based on local supply. For dessert, there are antioxidant-packed sweets ranging from the decadent Flourless Chocolate Cake to the wholesome Banana & Coconut Chia Seed Pudding. Behind the bar the eatery mixes up a variety of natural refreshers and libations featuring organic and gluten-free spirits that pair perfectly with fresh juice-Spontaneous Happiness, Cherry Sour Bourbon, Vegan Piña Colada, to name just a few.

In addition to the highly anticipated New York City opening, over the next 15 months True Food Kitchen will open locations in Chicago’s River North; throughout California in Pasadena, Palo Alto, and Walnut Creek; as well as in Austin, Texas; and Florida, Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Tennessee.

  1. I went to True Food in Scottsdale this past fall and it was really good. It’ll be a nice healthy addition to the neighborhood!

  2. CAN NOT WAIT!!! True Foods is the best!!

  3. I love True Foods! I asked them on Instagram when the new location would be open and this is the response I received. “NYC is not in our immediate plans but are always on the hunt for new locations to bring our concept!” Very strange considering I’ve seen multiple articles online about this location opening soon. Wonder what’s up…
