Boomerang Toys Is Closing Its Battery Park City Store

This is too bad: Boomerang Toys is closing its store in the New York Mercantile Exchange building in Battery Park City. It opened in fall of 2012, after being forced out of the World Financial Center when the mall morphed into Brookfield Place; a year later, Brookfield bought the NYMEX building (1 North End Ave.). The email from the store doesn’t say if it’s already done, but it does note that the Tribeca shop has been going strong for 14 years. (Photo courtesy Mommy Nearest.) UPDATE: BPCMom commented that the store is indeed already closed.

  1. So sorry to hear this but not surprised.

  2. I tried to go there on Sunday – it was already closed. It was a terrible location but how sad! I went there often.

  3. I went there a couple of times for Christmas gifts and they barely had anything on the shelves — to the extent that I asked if they were closing. The clerk assured me that they had just had a lot of sales and weren’t replenishing fast enough.
