Bluemercury is Opening Here

BaluchisTake it away, Manhattan Skyline Management press release!

Bluemercury, a leading luxury beauty products and spa retail chain, is opening a new Manhattan store at 275 Greenwich Street, located at the southeast corner of Warren Street in Tribeca. Consisting of approximately 2,000 square feet of ground floor space and an additional 800 square feet of space at the basement level, the new location also features over 100 feet of wrap-around frontage. The 275 Greenwich Street location is expected to open in spring 2016.

That’s the former Baluchi’s space, as you might have deduced by now. This will be Bluemercury’s tenth location in New York City (it has eighty-ish in the U.S.). The company’s “about” page is extensive; here’s a relevant paragraph:

We offer the world’s most innovative beauty products in a truly unique shopping experience. Bluemercury clients receive unparalleled technical product knowledge, expert advice and friendly service. Our teams would rather have clients leave the store with handfuls of samples, so that they can be sure to find products that work for them, rather than ever buy anything that is less than 100% right. Every day, we take hundreds of questions about skincare and makeup concerns and challenges. In addition to skincare, makeup, haircare, and fragrance products, clients can be pampered by our skincare experts in our locations’ spas. Our spas are home to the ultimate results-oriented treatments, including our world renowned oxygen facials, glycolic peels, waxing and microdermabrasion.

A reward for those of you who read to the end: The press release also states that “An additional 1,040 square feet of retail space will be coming available shortly on the block north of where Bluemercury will be opening.” The only two retail spaces on that block are Gee Whiz and TD Bank…. But aren’t they each far more than 1,040 square feet?
