In the News: WTC Transportation Hub Opens on Thursday

Those WTC Transportation Hub floors look really well polished. Wait for the first time people track in moisture from the likes of shoes and umbrellas. Might turn into a slip and fall lawyers dream come true. To be seen.
From the photo, I thought those floors were an ice rink!
There is a crew of uniformed workers whose job is to walk up and down the concourse from the PATH to Brookfield (the connecting one that is now open), polishing the floors as they go. I assume the oculus will have a similar crew. It will be the cleanest public spot in the city until funds run out. The cost of upkeep will overtake the cost of construction in no time. But it is beautiful!
I am astounded that they are planning an event to stand around and pat each other on the back for partially completing a project that took 15 years and cost a fortune. Is there no shame? And then to open it for the benefit of New Jersey commuters and not even local residents and workers. The progress at the number 1 station has ramped up but why could that not have been completed by now?
