While on W. Broadway this afternoon, I spotted a new “for rent” banner being hung outside 225 W. Broadway, the former Butterfly space where modern Australian restaurant Flinders Lane had been planning on opening its second location. (I didn’t take a photo; that one is old.) Then James noticed a new listing online. I just called the East Village outpost of Flinders Lane and the woman who answered the phone confirmed that the Tribeca restaurant is “not happening,” but she wouldn’t say why.
