Seen & Heard: World Trade Center Underground Map

••• “After looking for days I finally found a map for the new PATH station online showing all corridors and exits,” emails J. “I thought you may find  it interesting.” Indeed! Flying home from vacation today and the first thing I’m doing tomorrow is checking out the World Trade Center.

Map••• Angela sent over two pix of the Birch Coffee café opening at 8 Spruce Street (a.k.a. the Gehry building); the entrance is on Beekman.

Birch Coffee in Gehry Building2••• On April 13 at 6 p.m., “The Battery Park City Authority will host its next Open Community Meeting to provide updates on Battery Park City initiatives and welcome feedback from the public. All are encouraged to attend. Future meetings are currently scheduled for July 20 and November 16, 2016.” It’s at 6 River Terrace, across from the Irish Hunger Memorial.

••• “This photo is bad but I was pleasantly surprised to see a flock of brants in the grass in Battery Park City over my lunch hour,” reports L. “If you don’t pay attention you can mistake them for Canada geese but they are different (in fact, there were two bemused Canada geese off to one side watching them). They are migrating this time of year, toward the north end of the Arctic—they nest farther north than any other goose.”

Brant geese••• Cliff Fong got a preview of the new Wyeth store on Canal, so maybe it’s finally near opening.
