Target’s Tribeca Store Will Have a Chobani Café

The Target opening in October at the corner of Greenwich and Murray will include the second Chobani Café, the first being in Soho. From the release:

Guests will find the Mediterranean yogurt bar on the store’s first floor, featuring a menu of culinary creations made from Chobani’s signature Greek yogurt and hand-selected, artisanal ingredients. In addition to both sweet and savory yogurt creations, the café will offer sandwiches, soups, coffee and desserts, all made with only natural ingredients.

And here’s more on the store in general:

The first level will also feature Target’s exclusive, high-quality, affordable apparel and accessories, including our recently launched Who What Wear women’s fashion line. It’ll also have plenty of exclusive home products Target’s known for, like ThresholdTodd Oldham’s Hand Made Modern, and more. [On the “expansive” lower level:] Along with a CVS Pharmacy, they’ll also find fresh and organic produce, grab-and-go meals, baby and kids’ items, pet supplies, tech accessories, home organization and storage items, party and office supplies and more. In addition, we’re testing new fixtures in our apparel and home décor departments too, and enhanced displays in our health and beauty and electronics and entertainment departments.

Finally, a new rendering of the outside of the store:

  1. And the malling (mauling) of Tribeca continues unabated.

    • I agree with you about the overall problem but this is not quite the right example. 255 Greenwich has been a big gray office building for almost 30 years. The Target space was, if memory serves, a very large Korean deli that was part of a chain. It closed after being trashed by 9/11 and for 15 years I’ve seen either nothing there or strange little offices with very little street visibility. There may be some BMCC stuff in there, I’m not sure. Upstairs is R. R. Donnelly and the NYC Office of Management and Budgeting, for at least a few decades. So, this address is not a mom & pop location and hasn’t been since 1987.

  2. I rather have a target in the neighborhood than all the homeless encamping on empty store fronts (plenty of those two to go around). West Broadway has a few new residents lining its sidewalks. Seems real estate is getting a lot more affordable in Tribeca lately. Where do they go to have their basic needs? I can’t wait for those warm summer smells to fill the air!! That will make me go hmmmmmmm!!!

    • West Broadway is the new avenue of the homeless. Where do they go for their basic needs you ask? Have you seen the pile of food left for the woman at W Bway and Reade? People in the neighborhood are encouraging it! Instead they should be calling 311 and asking homeless services to help out, or our local precinct to break up the encampment.
