••• This morning, Black Lives Matter protesters draped banners over the Holland Tunnel pedestrian bridge and were (are?) sitting on the front step of the 1st Precinct. Thanks to L. for the photo.
••• You can now do Broga Yoga, so-named because it’s “yoga for bros,” at the Aqua aquatic-cycling studio on Franklin. It’s “a stripped-down version of yoga designed for men (but open to all). No mantras, sitar music or contemplating the meaning of life (though this may happen on its own).” The session will “weave in squats, push-ups, planks, mountain climbers, lunges together with yoga postures stretching the hamstrings, inner thighs, calves, chest, shoulders and back. Areas where men typically have a strong muscle mass and are therefore tighter.” Info here.
••• J. reports on City Vineyard’s soft-opening period: “There is table service. We sat on the roof and drank Schofferhofers out of fancy beer glasses.” It officially opens on July 29.
••• The TV show “Billions” is shooting on North End Ave. on Monday.
••• Ruben says that, according to its Facebook page, the Schnipper’s fast-food chain is hoping to open at 120 Church sometime the first week of August. I looked for that post but didn’t see it—Facebook is annoying that way—but I did come across this rendering. Also, the company really needs to decide whether it’s Schnippers or Schnipper’s and stick with it. UDPATE: Here’s the Facebook conversation.
