In the News: Inside Tracy Anderson’s New Studio

Tracy Anderson by Pablo Enriquez for W••• “This summer, I just wanted to be able to come home from teaching and be able to jump in the pool with my kids. So I started wearing swimsuits with sweatpants. One-piece swimsuits, because my son, who is 18, doesn’t like me wearing bikinis when his friends are over. So I started getting all these one-pieces.” That’s Tracy Anderson, in an entertaining Q&A with W magazine on the occasion of the opening of her huge new studio at Church and Franklin. There’s a slideshow of the new space; love how she kept the vault and other remnants of the former bank.

••• “A Battery Park City woman had a torrid affair with her married Manhattan divorce lawyer—and the illicit pair’s attorney-client privilege included months of X-rated text messages and steamy bikini selfies. Atesa Pacelli is now back with her hubby of eight years, and the couple is suing the lawyer, claiming he coerced her into sex.” The article includes the immortal come-on, “I need your lips on my nipples sometime in the near future.” Say it out loud for extra giggles. —New York Post

••• Remember how the owner of 28 Liberty wants to make changes to the landmarked plaza? Community Board 1 “voted overwhelmingly to re-table a tabled resolution from July on the modification of the deed restriction for 28 Liberty, at least until October.” —Architect’s Newspaper

  1. The new studio is a joke! not that the previous one is soho is anything better but it still better than basement!!!! (the one in soho is so poorly made!! many ppls slip and fall in there!!!)
the studio is in the basement and very low ceiling- no claustrophobic!!!
the smell of paint mixed with heat and humidity is driving me crazy.
the stairs are narrow and long to go through the workout area which is in 2nd basement floor and it was not done yet. the guy still finishing up the job.put 15 sweaty girls in there and that just felt like hell on earth. of course it was not shown in the slide.
